Our Story

A warm welcome to Solmade Botanical.

Hello I am Frances, the hands behind Solmade Botanical.

It's hard to talk about Solmade Botanical without mentioning my passion of farming, it's the backbone of everything I do. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, it has been a long journey of recovery both physically and mentally. I was introduced to work in an organic farm after my medical treatments, the moment I walked into the farm I fell in love with it. The fresh air, the singing birds, the mountains and the greens, it’s so peaceful that I can simply listen to my heart and I was connected. Season after seasons, I tried to grow and failed then I tried again. I talked to the plants and birds everyday, I know this must sound silly to you but yes I did. I started to talk through my hurts, pain and disappointment. I finally talked to my God, the one who controls heaven and earth. A process of healing and recovering. 

My passion of farming has leaded me to edible flowers and since then it has opened up a whole new world. The beautiful colour of edible flowers and their medicinal vales on skin, all those got me so excited.

During that time a member of my family has serious skin condition and I started to study and explore. I made my first batch of soap and was immediately hooked. Making soap is both a science and an art, the mixing of skin loving butters and oils, the use of different flowers and herbs for colour and patterns, the medicinal benefits on skin. There are so much to learn and explore and I love every minute of it. I hope to share this beautiful art with you all and hope you will enjoy as much as I do.

The name of the business Solmade means "In Him all things are made"
